In Gulangyu Islet facing Lujiang Harbourview Hotel across the sea, there was once a school named Yinghua Academy, which was founded in 1897 by the British Christian London Council in Bijia Hill in Gulangyu Islet. Priest Sadler participated in the foundation. The school is currently named Xiamen No. 2 Middle School.
鹭江宾馆对面的鼓浪屿，曾有英华书院，创办于1897年，英国基督教伦敦公会在鼓浪屿笔架山麓创设，山雅各牧师曾参与其事。现为厦门二中。
